We didn’t move to Scotland with a grand plan—we came for a short break from London life. A little escape to breathe, slow down, and maybe spot a few cows. But as it turns out, the universe had other ideas.

There was something about Scotland. The air was fresher, the people welcoming, and there was a peaceful stillness that made us feel instantly at home. Surrounded by open skies, rolling fields, and muddy boots that suddenly felt right at home, Scotland gave us what we didn’t even realize we’d been missing—freedom, space, and a slower rhythm of life that just felt natural.

Not long after, we discovered Cattermuir Lodge—a grand country home once owned by Sir Hugh Fraser. We told ourselves we were “just going to look.” The moment we stepped Inside, we looked at each other and said, “This is completely crazy… but it’s perfect.”

The property also came with a glamping pod, which at the time was pretty basic—more “bare bones” than boutique. But we saw the potential straight away. With a lot of elbow grease, late nights, and a few “what on earth were we thinking?” moments, we turned it into something really special. Now known as the Sunset Glamping Pod, it’s complete with a wood-fired hot tub, stylish finishes, and those unforgettable sunset views. It quickly became (and still is) our best-seller—the little pod that started it all.

Next to the lodge stood Catterwood Cottage, which we lovingly transformed into two self-contained cottages—Raspberry Cottage and Mountain View Cottage, each with its own garden and personality. They can also be joined together for groups of up to 14 guests— ideal for family gatherings and celebrations.
